Three things to check before ordering: The 16" rods work well in most safes but may seat only a couple of inches into the barrel on very tall safes or longer rifles. One buyer with a 55" safe ran into this with an AR and a .22. Scopes reduce effective capacity since guns need more horizontal clearance. The 6-pack does not include a velcro sheet; only the 10-pack and 20-pack starter kits do.
Installation
Attach the velcro sheet to the underside of a shelf or the ceiling of your safe. On wood shelves, staples work. On metal surfaces, spray adhesive is the right approach: spray both the metal and the back of the velcro sheet, wait about 30 seconds, then press and hold. Once the velcro is in place, insert a rod into each bore and press the rod tip into the velcro to lock the gun upright.

Which kit should I start with?
If you haven't used rifle rods before, start with the 10-pack or 20-pack. Both include the velcro sheet you need for installation. The 6-pack is rods only and assumes you already have velcro in place. For most standard gun safes, the 10-pack covers a full shelf row.
Will the 16" rods work in my safe?
For most safes in the 40" to 50" height range, yes. In taller safes, or with longer-barreled rifles, the rod may only seat a few inches into the bore. One buyer with a 55" safe found his AR and a .22 were too long for a secure fit. Measure your interior height and your barrel length before ordering.
How do I attach the velcro to a metal shelf?
Spray adhesive works well on metal. Spray both the metal surface and the back of the velcro sheet, let both tack for about 30 seconds, then press together firmly. Staples work on wood shelves but won't hold on metal. The starter kit instructions reference staples, so metal-safe owners should pick up spray adhesive before starting.
