Loose magazines stacked on a shelf shift, fall, and make every access a small exercise in frustration. This holder snaps 6 AR-15 style magazines into individual slots, keeping them upright, organized, and removable with a single snap-out motion. It has been in production long enough that buyers report using the same unit for a decade without issues.
It slides onto any standard safe shelf without mounting hardware, so it can be repositioned or moved easily. If you want it permanently fixed to the outside of the safe, the AR-15 Mag Holder Attachment Kit (P/N 18688, sold separately) uses 3M adhesive squares to mount it to the safe exterior.

Compatibility
The holder is designed for standard AR-15 style magazines. It is not confirmed to fit AK, pistol-caliber, or other magazine form factors. Buyers who use PMAGs in 7.62 format have noted the holder does not accommodate those dimensions.
The holder can be used in two ways: placed directly on a safe shelf without mounting hardware, or fixed to the exterior of a gun safe using the AR-15 Mag Holder Attachment Kit (P/N 18688, sold separately for $10.99). Both uses are valid; shelf placement keeps the holder mobile, and the Attachment Kit provides a permanent fixed position on the outside of the safe.
Common Questions
Do I need to mount it, or can I just set it on a shelf?
No mounting required for shelf use. The holder sits on a standard safe shelf and holds magazines upright without any screws or adhesive. Several buyers prefer this because it keeps the unit repositionable. If you want it mounted to the exterior of the safe, the Attachment Kit uses 3M adhesive squares for a permanent fixed position.
Will it fit PMAG or aftermarket AR-15 magazines?
The holder is designed for standard AR-15 style magazines, which includes most Magpul PMAG 5.56 and similar form-factor magazines. It will not fit 7.62x39 PMAGs or other magazines with a significantly different body width. If you run non-standard magazine profiles, confirm the holder's slot dimensions match your magazines before ordering.
What are Ranger Plates and how do they work with this holder?
Ranger Plates are low-profile magazine floor plate extensions that replace the standard floor plate and allow a magazine to be rocked free from a holder more quickly. The AR-15 Mag Holder is confirmed compatible with magazines using Ranger Plates. If you use Ranger Plates on your magazines, the snap-in and snap-out function remains intact.
This kit mounts one AR-15 Mag Holder (P/N 13007, sold separately) to the outside of a gun safe using eight high-strength 3M adhesive squares. No drilling, no screws, no permanent modification to the safe. The adhesive squares attach to the four corners of the holder, and the holder presses firmly into place on any smooth, clean safe exterior surface.
After mounting, the adhesive needs 72 hours to fully cure before the holder is loaded with magazines. Skipping the cure time risks the bond failing under load.

Installation
- Remove the adhesive film from one side of a square. Position it as close to a corner of the mag holder as possible without covering any existing hole. Apply one square to each of the four corners of the holder.
- Press firmly on each square for 30 seconds to seat the adhesive against the holder surface.
- Wipe the area on the safe where you plan to mount the holder with a dry cloth to remove dust, oils, and debris.
- Remove the film from the remaining exposed adhesive side of all four squares. Press the holder firmly into position on the safe exterior. Apply firm pressure to each corner for 30 seconds.
- Do not load magazines into the holder for 72 hours. The adhesive bond needs the full cure time to reach rated holding strength.
Wait the full 72 hours before loading. Loading magazines before the adhesive has cured puts stress on a bond that has not reached full strength. The kit uses 8 squares. Applying fewer or loading too early is the most likely cause of mount failure.
Common Questions
Does this kit include the mag holder?
No. This kit contains only the 3M adhesive squares needed to mount the holder. The AR-15 Mag Holder itself (P/N 13007) is sold separately for $53.00. You need both products to mount the holder to the outside of your safe.
Will this damage the safe's exterior finish when removed?
High-strength 3M adhesive can damage paint or powder coat when removed. This kit is designed for a permanent installation. If you think you may want to reposition or remove the holder later, placing it on a shelf inside the safe (without the Attachment Kit) is the better option. That approach is also confirmed by multiple buyers to work well long-term.
