SafElert mounts inside your safe and sends real-time alerts to your phone when something changes. Door openings, vibration, temperature swings, and humidity spikes all trigger notifications through the Liberty app, so you know what is happening with your safe whether you are at home or away.
The unit runs on three AA batteries and connects to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Setup involves mounting the device, connecting to your network, and setting your alert thresholds in the app. Battery life runs 6 to 8 months under typical use before replacement is needed.

Works With
Compatibility
SafElert works with any Liberty gun safe or home safe model. It mounts inside the safe using the included velcro or hardware, so size and series don't restrict compatibility. The Liberty app, required for setup and monitoring, is a free download on iOS and Android.
The one firm requirement is your Wi-Fi network. SafElert connects to 2.4GHz networks only and will not connect to a 5GHz network. Many modern routers and mesh systems broadcast on both bands or default to 5GHz. Before ordering, confirm that your router makes a 2.4GHz network available and that the signal reaches your safe's location.
2.4GHz Wi-Fi required. SafElert does not support 5GHz networks. If your router is dual-band and auto-assigns devices to 5GHz, you may need to create a separate 2.4GHz network or adjust your router settings before setup. Check your router's documentation or contact your internet provider for help identifying or enabling a 2.4GHz band.
Setup
Confirm your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network reaches your safe's location before starting. Setup is app-guided and does not require tools beyond mounting the device inside the safe.
- Download the Liberty SafElert app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Insert the 3 AA batteries into the SafElert device.
- Attach the appropriate Wi-Fi antenna. Use the 6" antenna for standard installs; use the 72" antenna if the safe is in a location with weaker Wi-Fi signal.
- Mount the device inside your safe using the included velcro or hardware.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect SafElert to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Configure your alert thresholds for temperature, humidity, vibration, and door activity in the app.
Common Questions
Will this work with my 5GHz or dual-band router?
SafElert only connects to 2.4GHz networks. If your router is dual-band and you can see separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz network names (SSIDs), connect SafElert to the 2.4GHz one. If your router auto-assigns band and you only see one network name, log into your router settings to check whether 2.4GHz is active. Most consumer routers support this. It may just need to be enabled or separated from the 5GHz band.
Is the Liberty SafElert app free?
The Liberty SafElert app is a free download on both iOS and Android. For the most current information on any subscription requirements or feature tiers, check the app listing in the App Store or Google Play before purchasing.
How will I know when the batteries need replacing?
Battery life is rated at 6 to 8 months under normal usage. The Liberty app monitors battery level and will notify you when replacement is needed. Keep a set of AA batteries on hand so the device doesn't go offline unexpectedly.
Which Liberty safe models does SafElert work with?
SafElert is compatible with all Liberty gun safe and home safe models, including the Centurion, USA Series, Colonial, Lincoln, Presidential, and Magnum. The device mounts inside via velcro or hardware, so there are no model-specific fit restrictions.
Which antenna should I use?
Two antennas are included: a 6" antenna for standard installs and a 72" antenna for locations with weaker signal. Most users in a home or office will be fine with the 6" antenna. If your safe is in a basement, garage, or other area where the Wi-Fi signal is marginal, try the 72" antenna first. The longer antenna can be routed through the safe's bolt holes or door seam to improve signal reach.
