Hangs from the underside of a shelf so pistols suspend barrel-down in the space below. The most common configuration for general handgun storage.
Back Over and Back Under

Mount at the rear edge of a shelf rather than the front or bottom. Back Over positions the barrel above the shelf surface; Back Under positions it below. Good for maximizing space at the shelf's back wall.

These hangers are designed for Liberty gun safes but work with any safe shelf that falls within the thickness and depth requirements: 5/8" to 1" thick and at least 10" deep. Most standard gun safe shelves meet these specs. Verify your shelf dimensions before ordering if you are using a non-Liberty safe.
Handguns must be .22 caliber or larger and no more than 10 inches overall length. Firearms longer than 10 inches will not hang securely. All five styles share these fit requirements.
Carry-Optics style optic clearance: The Carry-Optics hangers (P/N 17687) are designed for pistols with standard slide-mounted red dots. Extended or tall optic configurations may not have sufficient clearance. Buyers with non-standard optic mounts or target pistols with mounted optics should confirm fit before ordering.

It depends on your safe's shelf layout and how many hangers you install. The general principle is that each shelf gains a second row of storage in the space below it. Do these work on metal shelves or only wood?
The shelf material is not specified as a restriction. The requirement is thickness (5/8" to 1") and depth (10" minimum). Metal shelves within that thickness range should work. If your metal shelf is thinner than 5/8" or thicker than 1", the clip fit may not be secure.
Will the Carry-Optics style fit my pistol with a red dot?
