A 15-foot flexible strip with 142 LEDs lines the interior of your safe and lights up automatically when the motion sensor detects movement. Open the door and every shelf, door panel, and corner is visible without reaching for a flashlight or squinting into the back of a dark cabinet.
The strip runs on batteries or a plug-in AC adapter, so you can set it up with or without interior outlet access. Three mounting methods are available: adhesive backing, magnetic attachment, and screw-in. For most metal safe interiors, magnetic attachment is the most reliable of the three.

Mounting Options
Magnetic
Most reliable for metal safe interiors. No adhesive required. Repositionable if you want to adjust placement after installation.
Adhesive
Works on fabric-lined interiors. Does not bond reliably to bare metal or carpet. Plan to supplement the included velcro squares with additional fasteners for a 15-foot strip.
Screw-In
Permanent option for wood panels or framing. Not suitable for bare metal safe walls where drilling would compromise the interior finish.
Mounting note: The included velcro squares are not sufficient to secure the full 15-foot strip. Plan to pick up additional adhesive-backed velcro or mounting clips to fasten the strip every 6 inches along its length. Magnetic attachment on a metal interior is the lowest-effort option and requires no additional hardware.
Power and Placement
The AC adapter connects to a 110V outlet inside your safe. If your safe already has the Liberty Outlet Kit installed, run the adapter cord to one of the three outlets. For safes without interior power, the battery option lets you use the lights without any wiring.
Position the motion sensor controller where it has a clear line of sight toward the door opening. Long gun stocks stored upright near the sensor can block detection range. Mounting the sensor higher on the interior wall, above stock height, avoids this.
Common Questions
Do I need an outlet in my safe to use the Glowflex lights?
No. The kit includes both an AC adapter and a battery power option. Battery mode works without any wiring and is a good fit for safes that do not have the Liberty Outlet Kit installed. If your safe does have interior power, the AC adapter keeps the lights running indefinitely without battery swaps.
What is the best way to mount the strip in a metal gun safe?
Magnetic attachment is the most reliable option for metal interiors. The adhesive backing and included velcro squares do not adhere well to bare metal or carpet-lined surfaces. If you prefer adhesive, plan to add your own velcro or mounting clips at roughly 6-inch intervals along the full 15-foot strip. The included fasteners alone are not enough to hold the strip in place.
Will the motion sensor still work with rifles stored in the safe?
It can, but placement matters. Long gun stocks stored upright near the sensor can block its detection range. Mount the motion sensor controller above the height of your tallest stock, on the upper portion of the interior wall or door panel, so the sensor has a clear path toward the door opening.
