♾ Natural Convection 🔌 110V Plug-In 🔄 Continuous Operation 📦 Small and Large Sizes

Warm air rises and cold air settles. The PEET dehumidifier puts that physics to work inside your safe. A small heating element gently warms the air inside the unit, triggering a natural convection cycle that pulls cold, damp air down through the unit and pushes warm dry air upward into the safe interior.

Unlike desiccant canisters that saturate and need periodic oven recharging, the PEET runs continuously as long as it stays plugged in. No maintenance, no monitoring, no recharging cycle. Tuck it in a corner of your safe and leave it.

Which Size to Choose

Base your decision on two things: your safe's interior volume and how humid your area is. Buyers in high-humidity states like those along the Gulf Coast, Southeast, or Pacific Northwest benefit from going larger even in a smaller safe.

Small: Up to 300 cu ft

Mid-size gun safes in average humidity environments. Good fit for most residential Liberty safes in drier inland states.

Large: Up to 600 cu ft

Large gun safes, vault rooms, or any safe in a high-humidity climate, basement, or garage where moisture exposure is elevated.

Power Requirement

The PEET requires a 110V outlet inside your safe to operate. Liberty's Franklin series and above come with the outlet kit pre-installed. If your safe does not have interior power, you will need the Liberty Electrical Outlet Kit before this unit can be used.

No interior outlet in your safe? The Liberty Electrical Outlet Kit adds three 110V outlets through a single wall passthrough.

View Outlet Kit

Before you order: Confirm your safe has a 110V outlet inside, or add the Liberty Outlet Kit to your order. The PEET has no battery option and will not function without a live outlet.

How It Operates

The PEET runs continuously while plugged in. There is no timer, no shutoff cycle, and no on/off switch. That is by design. The convection process requires sustained heat to maintain circulation. Pulling the plug to cycle it on and off defeats the purpose.

The heating element uses minimal power and produces a low level of warmth inside the unit. Safe interior temperatures rise only slightly above ambient. Place it in a corner where it won't be bumped when accessing the safe.

Common Questions

Does this run all the time or can I turn it off?

The PEET runs continuously and has no built-in timer or shutoff switch. That is intentional. The convection process only works through sustained gentle heat, and cycling it on and off would reduce its effectiveness. Plug it in and leave it. The power draw is low and the unit is built for continuous use.

Do I need the Liberty Outlet Kit to use this?

Yes, if your safe does not already have interior power. The PEET requires a 110V outlet inside the safe. Liberty's Franklin series and higher models come with the outlet kit factory-installed. If your safe is a Centurion, USA, Colonial, or similar entry-level model, you will need to add the outlet kit separately before this unit will work.

Is this better than a desiccant canister?

For safes with interior power, the PEET has a clear advantage: it requires no maintenance. Desiccant canisters saturate and need oven recharging every few months. The PEET runs without interruption and keeps humidity levels more consistent over time. If your safe lacks interior power, a desiccant canister is the practical choice until you add the outlet kit.
